Pokémon Go achieves record in the Apple App Store

Pokémon Go is very popular, so popular that it has broken records in the App Store.

Friday, Apple confirmed that Pokémon Go was downloaded more times in its first week than any other app in history. The company declined to give total figures, and not say what app held the previous record.

Pokémon Go has become a cultural phenomenon since its arrival in the United States on July 6. The free mobile game allows players to catch Pokémon creatures of the universe with their cell and visualized through the camera as if they were in the physical world. Many people have walked very long distances to catch them. A Pokémon Go took only four days to become the number one free app in the App Store in the US.

The analysis firm my Sensor Tower said that Nintendo and Niantec app has been downloaded more than 30 million times on iOS and Android, and has represented more than $ 35 million in revenue. Currently, it is used more during the day than more established apps like Facebook.

And the financial firm Needham estimated Wednesday that Pokémon Go you could represent additional revenues of US $ 3.000 billion to Apple over the next 24 months. Two out of three are app downloads on iOS devices, and Needham estimated that 80 percent of expenditures within the app – to buy things like eggs or extra space – being made on Apple devices.

Apple made some changes to the App Store in early June, including approval of apps faster and allowing all applications to sell subscriptions. It will also reduce the percentage receiving subscriptions apps. If a manufacturer of a app keeps a subscriber for a year or more, Apple will reduce their share to 15 percent from 30 percent received before.
